1) When thou dost read the Qur´an,
seek Allah's protection from Satan the rejected one. No authority has he over
those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. His authority is over
those only, who take him as patron and who join partners with Allah. (Surah 16,
An-Nahl, verses 98-99-100).
2) But he had no authority over
them, - except that We might test the man who believes in the Hereafter from
him who is in doubt concerning it: and thy Lord doth watch over all things.
(Surah 34, Saba, verse 21).
3) Satan threatens you with
poverty and bids you to conduct unseemly. Allah promiseth you His forgiveness
and bounties. And Allah careth for all and He knoweth all things. (Surah 2,
Al-Baqarah, verse268).
4) Satan´s plan is (but) to excite
enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you
from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain?
(Surah 5, Al-Maidah, verse 91).
5) Of the cattle are some for
burden and some for meat: eat what Allah hath provided for you, and follow not
the footsteps of Satan: for he is to you an avowed enemy. (Surah 6, Al-An’am,
Verse 142).
6) If a suggestion from Satan
assails thy (mind), seek refuge with Allah. For He heareth and knoweth (all
things). Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them,
bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! They see (aright)! (Surah 7, Al-Ar’af,
verses 200-201).
7) And if (at any time) an
incitement to discord is made to thee by the Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He
is the One Who hears and knows all things. (Surah 41, Fussilat, verse 36).
8) (Their allies deceived them),
like the Evil One, when he says to man, "Deny Allah.: but when (man) denies
Allah, (the Evil One) says, "I am free of thee: I do fear Allah, the Lord
of the Worlds!" The end of both will be that they will go into the Fire, dwelling
therein forever. Such is the reward of the wrong-doers. (Surah 59, Al-Hashr,
verses 16-17)
9) It is narrated on the
authority of Abu Huraira that when, the son of Adam recites the Ayat of Sajdah
(prostration) and then falls down in prostration, the Satan goes into seclusion
and
weeps and says: Alas, and in the
narration of Abu Kuraib the words are: Woe unto me, the son of Adam was
commanded to prostrate, and he prostrated and Paradise was entitled to him and
I was commanded to prostrate, but I refused and am doomed to Hell. (Sahih
Muslim, Book 1, Faith, Kitab Al-Iman, Hadees No 144, Chapter 36: Application Of
The Word" Kufr" To One Who Neglects Prayer http://www.mclean.faithweb.com).
10) Abu Huraira reported: The
Apostle (may peace be upon him) said When the call to prayer is made, Satan
runs back and breaks wind so as not to hear the call being made, and when the
call
is finished, he turns round. When
Iqama is proclaimed he turns his back, and when it is finished, he turns round
to distract a man, saying: Remember such and such; remember such and such,
referring to something the man
did not have in his mind, with the result that he does not know how much he has
prayed. (Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Prayers, Kitab Al-Salat Hadees No 756, Chapter
6: The Excellence Of Adhan And Running Away Of The Satan On Hearing It http://www.mclean.faithweb.com
).
